Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct clinical care, assess and plan for assigned patients on a per-shift basis, and supervise staff to ensure safe, high-quality care. The role reports to the CNO and focuses on competency and resource management to support patient outcomes.

Minimum education includes graduation from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Active Texas RN license, BLS on hire, with ACLS and crisis intervention requirements

Qualifications

• Licensed as RN in Texas with current state license.
• Active BLS on hire; ACLS within 60 days for Dialysis.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 60 days for Behavioral Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical patient care and shift-based assessment and planning.
• Implement care and supervise staff, ensuring safe, high-quality nursing care.
• Support CNO in staffing, resource management, and competency development.

Job description

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

Education

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree

Experience

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health; 1 year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg
• 2 years in psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health
• 2 years acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis

Certifications

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. For RN in Behavioral Health: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into department

REQUIRED CCOURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. Dialysis Department: In addition to Basic Life Support, ACLS (AHA) must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the unit. Behavioral Health Unit: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for Behavioral Health must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
