Job summary

Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL is seeking a RN Manager, Med Surg to lead a nursing unit with a focus on clinical excellence and operational efficiency. The manager will oversee daily operations, staff development, patient safety, and compliance with hospital standards.

Under supervision of the senior nurse manager or director, you will coordinate interdisciplinary care, manage staffing and performance, participate in interviews, and contribute to quality improvement and patient experience

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as an RN.
• Bachelor's Degree Science in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse License from FL DOH or Compact State.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit.
• Provide guidance and coaching to nursing staff.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of nursing staff.
• Assist with staff scheduling and ensuring adequate coverage.
• Nurse Leader rounding on both patients and team members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
• Monitor patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding clinical questions and concerns.
• Handle patient and family complaints or issues, and resolve conflicts as needed.
• Assist with staff education and training programs.
• Keep informed of current trends, research, and best practices in nursing management and healthcare delivery.
• Risk Management reporting.

Under supervision of the senior nurse manager or director, provide clinical and administrative support to staff providing direct/indirect care to patients on a specific unit. May be called on to deliver nursing care to patients on assigned unit according to established nursing standards, policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. Responsible to assist with daily clinical operations and assists with the, quality/safety, patient experience, financial management of the assigned unit. Assists in interviews and makes hiring decisions as required. Assigns work to and participates in the evaluation of the employees supervised. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.
