Job Description

Location: Lancaster, PA

Hours: Full-time Circulating RN in the Main Operating Room with flexible shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours). Includes on-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time, some evening or night shifts, and rotation every third weekend. One summer and one winter holiday required.

Position Summary: As a Clinical Nurse 1, provide direct patient care, demonstrate safe practice, and seek guidance to develop skills. Work closely with the healthcare team to coordinate care, focusing on individualized, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive care. Complete all competencies and aim to advance to Clinical Nurse 2 within 18 months.

Essential Functions:

  • Incorporate Lancaster General Health mission, vision, and values into patient care.
  • Perform assessments, evaluate progress, and adapt care plans accordingly.
  • Analyze data, formulate age-appropriate care plans, and implement care while coordinating across disciplines.
  • Lead and communicate standards of care, support team members, and promote professionalism.
  • Educate patients, utilize technology, and consider safety and cost in care delivery.

Secondary Functions:

  • Manage changing situations, participate in process improvements, and complete mandatory education.
  • Maintain a safe environment, seek professional growth, and provide supervision and mentorship.
  • Participate in on-call duties and other assigned tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • RN licensure issued by PA or temporary permit with NCLEX within 60 days.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; BSN required for Magnet positions.
  • Complete Nurse Residency Program.
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire; RNC-OB or C-EFRM within 3 years if applicable.
  • Good standing with Medicare/Medicaid and other insurance programs.

Physical Environment: Exposure to biohazards, bloodborne pathogens, and radioactive agents.
