**Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN III Days– Lactation Consultant** **Unit for Texas Health HEB**

**Work location:** Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022
**Work hours:** PRN Level III/per diem, Day Shift; minimum requirement: 6 shift/per 6-week schedule, 2 weekend shift/per 6-week schedule, 1 major/2 minor holiday requirement
**Lactation Department highlights:**
+ The Siratt Women's Center at Texas Health Hurst Euless Bedford (HEB) Hospital has a PRN opportunity for an experienced Lactation Consultant.
+ 16 bed NICU, 9 bed L&D unit and 4 bed OB ED, 3 OR suites unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
+ Level II NICU
+ Maternal Designation III
**Here’s What You Need**
+ Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
+ RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
+ BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
+ IBCLC – Lactation Consultant upon hire
+ CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
+ 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
+ Current Lactation experience strongly preferred
**What You Will Do**
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
+ Assesses the patient
+ Plans the care of the patient
+ Intervenes as appropriate
+ Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
+ Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
+ Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
+ Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
