Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte is hiring a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join a high-energy unit that delivers care 24/7 as a Magnet designated facility and high-risk transfer center.

Schedule: 36 hours per week with three 12-hour day shifts, 7p–7a, plus holiday and weekend rotations. Requirements include an accredited nursing program, RN license in the state, BLS, and ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire; inpatient RN experience of 1 year preferred.

  • At least 6 months of RN experience; not for new graduates.
  • RN license issued by the state in which you practice.

Where You Will Work

The Labor & Delivery Unit at Carolinas Medical Center supports our surrounding area as the regional high risk transfer center. We have 22 Labor Deliver Recovery Rooms (LDR’s), 4 OB Observation Rooms, 4 Obstetrical Operating Rooms, 5 PACU rooms and 8 Ob Triage rooms. This department is a high energy unit and serves over 7,400 women annually. Our department is supported 24/7 by our physician partners in Anesthesia, Obstetrics, Maternal Fetal Medicine and the Neonatal Intensive Care unit. We are a Magnet designated Facility and a participant in the North Carolina Breastfeeding Stars program. We provide onsite training for nurses with a passion for perinatal nursing, pre-certifications are not necessary, the courses are included in our orientation process.

Expectations We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Candidates must have at least 6 months of RN experience, this position is not for new graduates.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS and PALS are required within 6 months of hire.
  • At least 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred.

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
