Job summary

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA, is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery on a night shift with required call. Experience in Labor and Delivery and cross-training into postpartum are preferred. A sign-on bonus up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Schedules include Full Time Nights (three 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend) or Part Time Nights (two 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend). Call is 16-24 hours per 6-week cycle.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license and nursing degree or diploma.
• 2 years of acute care nursing in women's health preferred.
• Experience in charge roles and labor and delivery preferred.
• NRP within 6 months of hire; BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery nursing care on a night shift.
• Monitor FHR with EFM and respond to abnormalities.
• Collaborate with obstetric team and postpartum cross-training.

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery! This is a night shift position with required call. Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery and will cross train into postpartum.

Sign on bonus up to $20,000 available for qualified candidates.

Schedules available:

Full Time Nights:Three 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday.

Part Time Nights: Two 12-hour shifts per week with every 3rd weekend rotation on Saturday and Sunday.

Call Requirement: The required call is 16-24 hours per 6-week schedule.

About the LDRP:

Sentara Martha Jeffersons Women’s Health includes L&D, and a 24 bed post-partum mother/baby. Our Level 2 newborn specialty care nursery has a 1 to 1 ratio while our intermediate care babies have a 1 to 3 nursing ratio. Our LDRP unit also offers post operative care for complex GYN and Breast surgical needs. This specialty area has a 100-member team cross trained to offer best in class healthcare to Charlottesville, VA, and surrounding areas. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Education

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing

• BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure

• Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire.

• BLS within 90 days of hire

• Registered nursing license required

• EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred

• Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred

Experience

• 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health preferred

• Experience in charge roles preferred

• Labor and Delivery specific Experience preferred

• Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.

• Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments

• Communication with patients and providers

• Must want to work night shift
