Job summary

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor and Delivery unit. The role involves providing and coordinating comprehensive maternal care, delivering safe and therapeutic nursing care through the care continuum.

We prefer a BSN, RN licensed in Illinois, BLS certification, and prior Labor & Delivery experience. This full-time night position offers teamwork in a well-equipped unit with several labor rooms and OB services.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program; BSN strongly preferred.
• State RN license to practice in Illinois.

• Prior Labor & Delivery experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• As a skilled RN, provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process in the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Lead efforts to ensure a safe patient environment and high-quality experiences for mothers and newborns.

Where You Will Work:

Join the team in our Labor and Delivery Unit at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital where we have 9 labor rooms, 2 OB Operating rooms and 1 recovery room. With an average of 75 deliveries per month our team of experienced labor nurses provide safe, quality care to our special patients.

We’re Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing, BSN strongly preferred

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

• Previous Labor & Delivery experience desired.

What You’ll Do:

• As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
