Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks an Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality care across imaging modalities. The RN will manage pre-, intra-, and post-procedure phases, with competency in sedation and airway recovery.

Requirements include BSN, active CT RN license, 2 years ICU experience with cardiac/critical care, and ACLS. Cath Lab or IR experience preferred; candidate should be collaborative and flexible in a close team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to patient status; coordinate with physicians and staff.

Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Nurse (RN) provides high quality nursing care to patients across all imaging modalities within the Radiology Department. The Registered Nurse (RN) applies all phases of care for invasive radiology procedures; pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure. The IR RN demonstrates competency in advanced patient assessment skills of all body systems (neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, GI, GU, skin and musculoskeletal). Functions as clinically competent in procedural sedation, administering conscious sedation and understanding the sedation recovery phase, reversal agents and airway recovery skills. Delegates and supervises work of PAA and PCA. Reports to Unit Manager.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required) with activeRN Connecticut State License.
• Strong Cardiac/Critical Care background, 2 years of ICU RN experience required.
• Cath Lab or Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
• Must be collaborative and flexible working in a close team environment.
• ACLS Required
