Job summary

Northshore Home Health Care is seeking an RN to provide direct patient care in an Internal Medicine setting, assessing and planning care for a diverse patient load. You will work on an 18-bed Med/Surg unit, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the interprofessional team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes critical thinking, clear communication, and teamwork, with a focus on regulatory adherence and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred for enhanced clinical scope.
• Current RN license in good standing with no sanctions.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care.

• Collaborates with an interprofessional team to develop and communicate individualized care plans, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs, addressing patient preferences and barriers.
• Participates in professional development and safety initiatives, promoting a healing environment and regulatory adherence.
• Qualifications include a Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred), RN license, with less than two years of experience preferred.
• Skills required include assessment, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork.
