Responsibilities include:
- Using the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness. Engage patients and families in care planning and maintain therapeutic relationships.
- Recognizing significant changes in patient conditions, providing ongoing assessments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care.
- Implementing strategies to reduce risks and enhance safety, assessing readiness to learn, and developing educational strategies for patients and families.
- Coordinating discharge plans using an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices, and adhering to nursing and regulatory standards.
- Evaluating outcomes, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and participating in professional development activities.
- Communicating effectively, resolving conflicts, and demonstrating leadership by delegating appropriately.
- Promoting safety culture by identifying threats, reporting safety events, and implementing corrective actions.
- Applying ethical decision-making, respecting peers and disciplines, and participating in team-based care planning.
- Engaging in quality and process improvement initiatives to enhance department functions and patient experience.
- Participating in professional activities for continuous development, attending meetings, and completing competencies timely.
- Providing age-appropriate care, understanding growth and development, and interpreting patient data accordingly.

Licensure and certification requirements:
- RN license issued by the practicing state
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Educational requirements:
- Completion of an accredited nursing program
Experience required:
- Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience
Skills and abilities:
- Holistic patient care, situational awareness, proficiency with electronic records, communication skills, decision-making, organization, teamwork, and certification maintenance.
Physical requirements include mobility, lifting, pushing, and exposure to hazards, with necessary protective equipment.
