Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Lawrenceburg is seeking an ICU RN for a full-time, nights position. The role involves direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU, with a 3x12 schedule and rotating weekends, joining a dedicated team committed to patient-centered care.

Applicants should hold a Tennessee RN license (or valid compact state with Tennessee paperwork) and an associate degree in nursing; BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current Tennessee RN license or a valid compact state RN license with Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
  • Associate's degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire; ACLS within 3 months; PALS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
  • Execute plan of care including medication administration, specimen collection, treatments, and other medical care.
  • Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
  • Monitor and communicate patient condition to care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and comfort measures.
  • Collaborate across disciplines for coordinated care, including transfers and discharges.
  • Educate patients and families about conditions, age-appropriate care, and cultural considerations.
  • Act as advocate for patients' physical and emotional well-being.

The Intensive Care Unit is a close-knit team that provides comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill patients through evidence-based practice, advanced technology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

How You'll Contribute
  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Tennessee or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 7 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 3 months of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire.
  • Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
  • Licenses: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with the State of Tennessee or a licensed Registered Nurse from a Compact State with the proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
  • Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.

STRHS-Lawrenceburg, formerly Crockett Hospital, is a 99-bed, acute care facility located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, 85 miles south of Nashville. We have been providing the best healthcare in Lawrence County and surrounding counties in Southern Middle Tennessee since 1974. We expanded the facility and services in 1991 with the addition of an Outpatient Surgery Unit, a state-of-the-art 24-hour physician-staffed Emergency Department, and an Intensive Care Unit. The hospital opened a 10-bed Physical Rehabilitation Unit in 1997, and a Women's Health Center in 1999. Diagnostic imaging services include in-house MRI, Nuclear Medicine, CT, X-ray, Digital Mammography and Ultrasound. The Rehabilitation Unit provides Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies. In 2009, a $5.6 million construction was completed which expanded the Emergency Department, Outpatient Surgery Unit and Registration area.
