Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Inpatient Rehab on a PRN basis. The role involves delivering patient-centered care, collaborating with the care team, and upholding nursing standards of practice in accordance with state requirements and hospital policies.

You will assess patients on admission and during shifts, administer medications, document care, educate patients and families, and respond to requests promptly to ensure excellent patient outcomes and

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or appropriate compact license; active FL RN within 60 days if compact.
• Graduate nurse with RN licensure; diploma or ASN required, BSN preferred.
• Experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills; ability to follow instructions and use PC systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift; promptly report changes.
• Administer medications, monitor responses, and document care in the medical record.
• Respond to patient requests promptly and anticipate needs to provide exceptional care.
• Educate patients and families about condition, plan, medications, and follow-ups; translate medical terms as needed.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.

• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.

• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

What qualifications you will need:

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.

• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.

• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
