Job Summary

Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care and by providing a positive, supportive environment. The Registered Nurse is the front-line representative of the patient care team, often serving as the intermediary between the patient and family, and the provider(s) and other care team members. This role is expected to participate in performance improvement initiatives, maintain professional competence, develop others, uphold confidentiality, safety, and professional standards.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Assess patients through history and physical exams for initial and ongoing assessments. Develop individualized nursing care plans specific to patient needs.
• Monitor and ensure quality patient care by following established policies within the scope of practice. Document timely and accurate record entries, chart treatment and care electronically, and adhere to security measures.
• Provide nursing care based on patient needs in cooperation with physicians. Ensure patient safety through rounding and policy compliance. Administer and monitor medications using barcode scanning for safety.
• Supervise/delegate tasks to staff to ensure safe patient care. Instruct patients and families regarding treatments.
• Apply infection control practices by adhering to standard precautions, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Certifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification, obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Current Georgia Registered Nursing License (RN) or a qualifying multi-state compact license.

Experience

• At least 1 year of bedside nursing experience, including patient care management and medication administration.
