This position has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes.
The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills at the novice level necessary to provide care relevant to the patient(s) under their care, and apply principles of growth and development over the lifespan. The role provides professional nursing care for patients in an inpatient hospital setting.

Meet physical demands such as lifting and moving patients, with accommodations as needed. Work involves stamina and strength, visual and auditory acuity, and working around biohazards and infectious diseases.

The CAPE program is a clinical advancement system to enhance professional development, reward clinical performance, promote quality nursing, and improve job satisfaction. Nurses can progress through levels based on experience, education, certification, and competencies, including roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, and participation in quality improvement and governance.
Exciting opportunity to join the new WVU Ruby Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit as a full-time RN. The unit offers a patient ratio of 1:5, with all shifts available. Preferred candidates will have experience or interest in neurological rehabilitation, and a desire to complete CRRN certification. The position involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practices, and providing outstanding patient care.
