Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a skilled Internal Float RN for its 24‑hour weekly Internal Float Pool at the Milwaukee, WI site. The role covers Med/Surg, Telemetry, and ED Boarding with 12‑hour night shifts and flexible scheduling within a single facility.

Minimum 18 months in Med Surg or Telemetry; 2 years preferred. Requires an accredited nursing program completion, an RN license, and BLS. Competitive compensation and full benefits are offered.

Where You Will Work

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center’s Internal Float Pool is a dynamic, highly skilled team supporting Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), Telemetry (Tele), and ED Boarding departments. Our Internal Float RNs bring versatility, clinical strength, and teamwork to every shift, ensuring high‑quality, compassionate care across multiple specialty areas within a single facility.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA)

Experience: Minimum 18 months of Med Surg or Telemetry RN experience (2 years strongly preferred)

Flexibility and ability to meet the following scheduling expectations per 6‑week period: Self-Scheduling 1 weekend (Sat-Sun Shifts) Commitment to ongoing learning, adaptability, and teamwork across multiple care environments

As a skilled and compassionate Internal Float RN, you will play a pivotal role in delivering and coordinating comprehensive patient care across several high‑acuity units.

Responsibilities include:

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. Must safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers. Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures, as well as the ability to operate equipment foot controls. Must be able to respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de‑escalation and restraints when necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used.
