Cottonwood Springs in Olathe, KS, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention to lead infection control efforts in a behavioral health hospital setting. The role oversees concurrent surveillance, develops containment measures, collaborates with Employee Health, and maintains infection logs.

The ideal candidate holds an MPH, a BS in microbiology/epidemiology, or related credentials, with RN licensure and 5+ years in hospital or public health surveillance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years clinical experience in a hospital setting or disease surveillance experience in a public health setting.
• Education: MPH, MT, or BS in microbiology/epidemiology; RN license required; infection control certification within 3 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides concurrent surveillance of infection control activities.
• Develops and implements infection control measures throughout the hospital.
• Assists the Employee Health Nurse as needed.
• Maintains a log of infections and communicable diseases incidents.
• Monitors infections and hospital-acquired infection.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Monitors infections in the hospital and evaluates as to hospital acquired infection.

Whatwe'relooking foris a Registered Nurse (RN) Infection Prevention RN who is responsible for supporting the needs of the department with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence with these qualifications:

• Education: Masters in public health (MPH), certified medical technologist, or a BS in microbiology or epidemiology
• Requires current RN license with BSN preferred -or-Master's in Public Health (MPH), certified medical technologist, or a BS in microbiology or epidemiology
• Licenses: Acquires Infection Control Certification within 3 years of employment
• Minimum of five years clinical experience in a hospital setting or disease surveillance experience in a public health setting
• Computer skills and basic statistical is preferred

Schedule: Days (7a-7p) (3 12s, rotating weekends, holidays)
