Job summary

AdventHealth in Winter Park, Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a PRN schedule. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, educate families, and coordinate with the medical team to provide holistic care.

Candidates must hold an Associate's in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), be licensed as an RN, and have BLS. The role requires EKG competency, and weekend coverage may be required; benefits start from day one.

Qualifications

• Active RN license and BLS/CPR certification required.
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• EKG competency and basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and regularly revise them.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and outcomes in the medical record.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
