Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse, RN II for the CVICU at the Heart & Vascular Hospital in Arlington, TX. The PRN day shifts run Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 9:00pm, with a 47-bed facility including a 20-bed CVICU and 27-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit.

Required are a nursing degree (BSN preferred), current RN licensure in Texas or compact, ICU experience, and certifications (BCLS, ACLS, CPI).

Qualifications

  • One (1) year of ICU experience with post op and advanced monitoring equipment preferred.
  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing on hire.
  • BCLS and ACLS required/obtained within specified timelines.
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
  • Assesses the patient.
  • Plans the care of the patient.
  • Intervenes as appropriate.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates information sharing to meet patient and family needs.
  • Maintains continuity of patient care during shift changes and transfers.

Work hours: PRN - Days; Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 9:00pm

CVICU Highlights


  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

  • 47 bed facility including a 20 bed Cardiovascular ICU and a 27 bed Cardiac Telemetry unit.

Here’s What You Need


  • Nursing Degree, or Associate Degree in Nursing is required. BSN is preferred. (CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required.)

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire is required.

  • One (1) year of experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program is required.

  • One (1) year of ICU experience with post op and advanced monitoring equipment including IABP, CRRT, and Impella is highly preferred.

  • BCLS is required upon hire with an expiration date greater than 3 months preferred.

  • ACLS is required within 90 days of hire.

  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training is required within 60 days of hire.


What You Will Do

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process



  • Assesses the patient

  • Plans the care of the patient

  • Intervenes as appropriate

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
