Position Overview
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within assigned areas, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care according to medical regimens and appropriate interventions based on patients' conditions, following established standards, policies, and procedures, including care of ambulatory practice patients.
- Initiate assessments based on patients' presenting problems or needs, physician diagnoses, and the functional health framework.
- Collect key information from patients, families, labs, and other medical reports.
- Ensure all necessary consents are signed and all identification procedures are completed.
- Determine nursing diagnoses and prioritize care, considering patient teaching, discharge planning, and developmental needs.
- Document assessments, diagnoses, and clinical judgments accurately.
- Demonstrate knowledge, technical skills, interpersonal skills, and critical thinking to provide quality care and meet age-specific needs within the unit.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved nursing program (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- RN license in Tennessee or applicable state (Required)
- BCLS certification (Required)
- ACLS certification within 1 year (Required)
- Experience caring for inpatient populations including school age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients (Required)
