Summary Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU/CCU FULL TIME - NIGHTS (3RD SHIFT) The ICU/CCU is an 8-bed area designed for critically or seriously ill patients who are unable to communicate their needs or for which deliberate planned observation and highly skilled medical, nursing, and clinical support services are required. This area is modified and set aside from adjacent facilities and contains necessary diagnostic, monitoring and special equipment and supplies needed for immediate use. Job Description: A Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. This individual honors patient’s mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines. The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness. Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service. Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.

Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred)
  • Completion and maintenance of BLS.
  • ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire.
