Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU IP Nursing department. The role involves assessing and planning nursing care, supervising CNAs and other staff, administering medications, and ensuring patient safety and privacy.

The position requires a current IL RN license or eligibility, CPR certification, and availability to work nights. Full-time hours are offered with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, nutritional, and functional needs.
• Plan and implement a care plan with appropriate nursing interventions for the age population served.
• Assess educational needs of patients and families and implement teaching strategies.
• Evaluate care and patient responses.
• Document nursing care in the medical record.
• Provide delegation and supervision to CNAs, SNAs and other staff as assigned.

Position Summary

Provides professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients. The Registered Nurse provides care consistent with the standards of professional nursing. Provides leadership and supervision to CNA/SNA and other healthcare workers as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assesses each patient's physical, psychosocial, cultural, nutritional, and functional needs
• Plans and implements a plan of care with the appropriate nursing interventions specific to the age population served
• Assesses educational needs of patient/ families implementing teaching strategies
• Evaluate care given including the patient response
• Documents nursing care in the medical record
• Provides delegation and supervision to CNA, SNA and other healthcare workers who assist the nurse in the plan of care
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct

Required Qualifications

Education and Training:

• CPR certified
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois or eligible for licensure per Nurse Practice Act

Work Shift Details: Nights -12 Hours, 7p to 7A Full-time

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $35.00 - $42.50. The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
