Aurora Health Care is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ICU in Kenosha, WI. You will deliver high-acuity patient care in a 12-bed unit, collaborating with intensivists and specialty teams to ensure safe, effective treatment in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal candidates have completed an accredited nursing program and hold a state RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire).
Our 12‑bed Critical Care Unit cares for the highest‑acuity patients across all specialties—including neuro, cardiac, medical, and surgical cases—with capabilities for CVVH and IABP support. The unit typically has 11–12 patients per day with an average stay of about three days, and offers supportive nurse‑to‑patient ratios: 2:1 in the ICU (with some 1:1), 3:1 for stepdown, and 4:1 for telemetry, plus a 12:1 NA ratio. Nurses work closely with intensivists, specialty providers, and 24/7 virtual critical care support. We seek organized, team‑oriented nurses with strong critical‑thinking skills who want to care for high‑acuity patients and respond effectively to rapidly changing conditions; prior ICU or nursing experience is helpful but not required. You’ll love this unit for its strong collaboration, engaged nursing culture, and commitment to exceptional critical care—an environment where you can build advanced clinical skills, grow professionally, and work alongside supportive colleagues who truly value teamwork.
