Operating 24/7 year-round, the unit requires teammates to participate in holiday and weekend rotations. The average daily census is 24 patients, with an average length of stay of 3–4 days. Nurse-to-patient ratios typically run at 5:1, while nursing assistants maintain a 6:1 ratio. While prior experience in orthopedic or surgical care is a plus, it is not required. The unit values teamwork, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Known for its strong sense of camaraderie and innovation, the team functions like a family, working together to deliver high-quality care. The unit welcomes both new graduates looking to build their skill set and experienced RNs who thrive on challenges.
