Job summary

Capitol Home Health in the Austin Metro Area seeks an experienced Registered Nurse with community health focus to plan and direct home care services. The RN will work to meet patient needs and deliver quality care in patients' homes and communities.

The PRN position requires an active Texas RN license, CPR certification, and knowledge of OASIS; prior home health experience is preferred. Transportation is required to serve surrounding counties.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in the employment state.
• BSN degree preferred but not required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care in an institutional setting.
• At least 1 year of home health care experience preferred.
• CPR certification current; in-person skills evaluation completed.
• Knowledge of OASIS documentation preferred.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within service areas.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The RN is responsible for planning, organizing and directing home care services. The professional RN builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individuals and families within their homes and communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current and unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• One (1) year of home health care experience, preferred.
• Management experience not required, but direct supervisory experience of Licensed Vocational Nurses and Nurse Aides/Assistants, preferred.
• Possess and maintain valid CPR certification. Must have obtained in-person with a practical skills evaluation as part of the final test.
• Working knowledge of OASIS documentation requirements, preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
• Access to reliable transportation.
