Job summary

Capitol Home Health in Austin, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse to plan, organize and direct home health services. The RN will draw on community resources to meet the needs of individuals and families in their homes and neighborhoods.

The role emphasizes patient education, quality care, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to nursing standards while delivering compassionate in-home care. Experience in community health and home health preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current and unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, preferred.
• One to two years of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• One year of home health care experience, preferred.
• Management experience not required, but direct supervisory experience of LVNs and Nurse Aides/Assistants, preferred.
• Possess and maintain CPR certification. Must have obtained in-person with a practical skills evaluation as part of the final test.
• Working knowledge of OASIS documentation requirements, preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
• Access to reliable transportation.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The RN is responsible for planning, organizing and directing home care services. The professional RN builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individuals and families within their homes and communities.
