Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Holding Room Registry during days and PM shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness. Engage patients and families in care planning and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  2. Recognize and respond to significant changes in patient conditions, adjusting care plans as necessary and coordinating resources with the healthcare team.
  3. Implement safety strategies to reduce patient risks and assess patient and family readiness to learn, tailoring education accordingly.
  4. Coordinate discharge planning using an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practices, and adhering to regulatory standards.
  5. Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking appropriate actions when needed. Support quality improvement initiatives.
  6. Communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and promote collaboration within the healthcare team. Assume leadership roles and delegate appropriately.
  7. Identify safety threats, report incidents timely, and participate in corrective actions to enhance patient safety.
  8. Apply ethical decision-making, respect peers and disciplines, and participate actively in patient care planning.
  9. Engage in professional development activities, attend meetings, and complete required competencies annually.
  10. Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan.
Qualifications
  • Current RN license issued by the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

  • Typically 2-3 years of critical care nursing experience.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and other movements necessary for patient care.
  • Exposure to chemicals, waste, blood, and body fluids, requiring protective equipment.
  • Functional senses and fine motor skills for procedures.
