The Arcadia Family of Companies is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Hale Ola Kino in Honolulu. You will deliver high-quality nursing care, oversee direct resident care on your shift, and administer medications in accordance with regulations and policies.

Required are a BSN or equivalent and a Hawaii RN license with CPR/First Aid. The role involves coordinating physician visits, documenting orders, and maintaining HIPAA and safety standards while supporting nursing staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Nursing or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ nursing experience or training.

The following shifts are available:

• Call-In (No Set Schedule) Monday through Sunday (6:00 am - 6:30 pm)

Pay Range

• $46.80 to $52.20 Hourly

Responsibilities

• Supervisesdirectcareofresidentsandnursingpersonnelontheirassignedshift.
• Conductstreatments,including,butnotlimitedto:dressings,catheterization,suctioning,oxygen,etc.
• Providesdirectcarewhenneeded.
• Overseesandmanagestheadmissionofnewresidents.Admissionsprocessincludes,butnotlimitedto:welcomingresidentstotheirrooms,instructingCNAsonresidentneeds,communicatingtheadmissiontostaff/departmentpersonnel,verifyingandcarryingoutorderswithpharmacy,communicateeffectivelywithfamily/residentonexpectationsofstay,andassessingresident’soverallstatusanddeterminingchangingneeds.
• Administersmedications.
• EnsuresallmedicationsandtreatmentsareperformedandchargedappropriatelybytheLPNordesignatedofficial.
• Assureseffectivecommunicationwithothershiftsanddepartmentpersonnelasitrelatestoresidentcare.
• Guaranteesappropriatenursingcareisprovided,accordingtoestablishedstandardsandpolicies.
• Evaluatesresidentcareandtreatmentbymakingroundsatleasttwicepershifttoensurepropercareisrenderedinasafeandcleanenvironment.
• Apprisesstaff,physicians,resident/residentrepresentative,andfamiliesofchangesinresident’scondition.
• Verifiesaccuracyandcompletenessofmedicalrecords.
• Maintainsacceptablestandardsofpersonalhygieneandcomplieswithdepartmentdresscode.
• ReportsallsuspicionsorallegationsofresidentabuseoutlinedintheSTOP,REMOVE,REPORTpolicyandprocedures.
• MaintainstheconfidentialityofresidentcareinformationoutlinedundertheHIPAAregulations.
• Maintainssafeandsanitaryworkstationsandequipment.
• Coordinatesphysicianvisitswithresidents.
• Accompaniesphysicianswhenmakingrounds,notesallorders,hasphysiciansignanddocumentonresident charts.
• Assistswiththeorientationandevaluationofnursingpersonnel.
• Assistsinthedevelopmentandimplementationofnewpoliciesandprocedures.
• Assistsininfectioncontrol,safety,andpharmacyroundsandaudits.
• Participatesinfamilyandresidentcounseling,asnecessary.
• Confirmsproperfunctioningofequipmentandadequatesupplies.
• Coordinatesnursingactivitieswithotherdepartmentswhennecessary.
• Encouragesresidentindependence,attendanceatactivities,restorativeprograms,andrehabilitation.
• Maintainstheself-respect,personaldignity,andphysicalsafetyofeachresident.
• Attendsin-servicetraining,floororientation,staffmeetings,andeducationsessions,asrequired. AttendsandcollaboratesinresidentcareplansandQualityAssurancecommitteemeetings.
• Assignstasksanddutiestostaffintheeventofanemergencyornaturaldisaster.
• FunctionsasanLPNorCNA,whenneeded.
• Other dutiesasassigned by the Arcadia Family of Companies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises employees in the Health Care Center. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; performance management; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

Current State of Hawaii R.N. license and First Aid/CPR certification.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in using a computer including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications. Capacity to learn and master other applicable software applications.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
