Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to join the CB2 unit, providing care to medical oncology patients, hematologic cancers, and related diagnoses. You will work with a multidisciplinary team in a patient-centered model.

Under the Nurse Manager, you will apply the nursing process, develop plans of care, and support emotional, spiritual, and educational needs of patients and families. BLS required; CT RN license active.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role).
• BSN preferred.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using evidence-based practice in accordance with state act, hospital policies, and medical staff direction.
• Develop and implement a care plan using the nursing process to meet physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and family.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care in a diverse work environment.
• Support med-surg overflow needs when necessary and appropriate.

Job Summary

CB2

serves the medical oncology population of the organization and commonly includes: solid tumor cancer patients, hematological cancer patients, acute leukemia and lymphoma patients, and benign hematology patients, along with the provision of hospice and end of life care.

The unit also services the needs of a variety of med-surg overflow patients when necessary and appropriate.

Our Nurses work in collaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs of the patient and family.
