Job summary

Hemingford Care Center in Hemingford, Nebraska is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our geriatric care team on the night NOC shift (6pm–6am). You will provide compassionate, patient‑centered nursing care for residents needing long‑term and short‑term support.

Qualifications

• Current active RN license in the state of employment (Nebraska).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific information in English.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent on treatments in the medication/treatment record.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals per policy.
• Notify physician of refusals, non-compliance, and adverse reactions promptly.
• Maintain neat medication cart, refrigerator, and room; assist in orientation and training.
• Practice infection control and universal precautions; follow safety policies.

What you'll do:

Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines

Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/trea tment record

Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures

Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions

Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/disposing

Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required

Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred
