Lutheran Senior Services in Webster Groves, MO is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and coordinate care for residents, following the Nurse Practice Act and facility policies. The role includes medication administration, IV therapy, and care planning in collaboration with a diverse care team.

You will document comprehensively in the EMR, supervise certified staff, and promote safety and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited/approved nursing school.
• BSN preferred.
• CPR certified.
• Specialized training or experience in gerontological nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Practice nursing care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act; maintain active license and follow licensure rules.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to define individualized plans of care and ensure regulatory compliance; provide teaching and role modeling.
• Mix TPNS, hang first bag of blood for infusions, ports access/de-access, IV pushes, and other duties within RN licensure.
• Pass medications and oversee medication ordering and administration; monitor IV fluids and medications; IV-certified nurses may initiate IV therapy.
• Maintain documentation for observation/assessment and care plans; use EMR for full clinical documentation.
• Utilize EMR to capture full clinical documentation; ensure timely and accurate reports.
• Observe resident status to assure quality care; coordinate with resident services for continuity of care; document medical information.
• Maintain safe environment; assess hazards and implement safety practices.
• Oversee and direct certified staff to meet EverTrue standards of care and services.
• Perform rounds and document resident progress and changes in condition.
• Report and support investigative protocols regarding staff or resident incidents per regulations.

Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) performs nursing functions within the scope of practice and provides and/or coordinates care and services to meet the residents’ physical, psychosocial, and functional care needs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Practices nursing care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act; Keeps a current active license; Follows state and federal licensure rules and regulations for the level of care in which they practice and in accordance with EverTrue clinical and administrative policies and procedures

2. Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in defining individualized plans of care for each resident; Works closely with nursing leadership to ensure regulatory compliance; Promotes individual and team learning and provides teaching and role modeling of professional nursing practices to staff for quality clinical care

3. Mixes TPNs, hangs first bag of blood for infusions, accesses, and de-accesses ports, performs IV pushes, and carries out other duties consistent with the registered nurse licensure

4. Passes medication and/or oversees the medication ordering and administration process; Administers medications and treatments to residents; monitors administration of I.V. fluids, supplemental nourishments, and medications when ordered; I.V. certified nurses may initiate I.V. therapy

5. Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of the observation/assessment and documentation process for the level of licensure in which they work, including care and service plans and the MDS as applicable

6. Utilizes the electronic medical record to capture full clinical documentation in accordance with policy and procedures

7. Observes resident status as necessary to assure quality care; Coordinates with other resident services to assure continuity of care; Documents medical information and maintains detailed, timely, and accurate reports

8. Maintains a safe, comfortable, and functional environment by assessing potential hazards; Implements practices to maintain optimum safety

9. Oversees and directs the certified staff and others as assigned to ensure the EverTrue standards of care and services are provided

10. Performs rounds according to established schedule; Documents resident progress, changes in condition, etc.

11. Reports and supports investigative protocols as it relates to staff or resident incidents and/or accidents in accordance with state and federal regulations

EverTrue Pay & Benefits

Pay grade: 14, $31.05/hour to $49.75/hour. Eligible for shift differentials: Yes. $3.00/hour evenings; $2.50/hour nights; $2.50/hour weekends (States of IL & MO; May vary in other states)
