Job summary

Recovery Centers of America in Danvers, MA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time days or nights. You will conduct intake interviews, plan and provide nursing care, and work with a multidisciplinary team to support patients through detoxification and recovery.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Collaborate with team to create a therapeutic environment with de-escalation and therapeutic communication.
• Monitor patients during detox using CIWA/COWS and vital signs; administer meds as ordered.
• Consult with medical and behavioral health staff on treatment plans.
• Prepare paperwork and medications for patients discharging next shift.
• Administer and document reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.

Full-Time Sign-On Bonuses (Paid in Installments Over 5 Years)

• Day Shift: $35,000
• Night Shift: $50,000

Full-time, Days (7a-7:30p) Nights (7p-7:30a) (Including every other weekend)

What You’ll Do

As an RN at RCA, you will:

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients.
• Collaborate with team members to create a therapeutic environment, utilizing verbal de-escalation and therapeutic communication.
• Monitor patients utilizing CIWA/COWS assessments and measuring vital signs during their detoxification, providing medication as ordered and contacted medical providers when necessary.
• Consult with medical and other behavioral healthcare staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
• Prepare paperwork and medications for patients discharging next shift.
• Administer and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.
• Arrange further medical attention when necessary.

Job Requirements

• Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or the ability to get licensed)
• Previous experience working in behavioral health or addiction is preferred, but not required
• Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders and DSM criteria and terminology preferred
• Availability to work rotating weekends, Saturday and Sunday. 
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar.
• Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification responds well to questions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; thorough knowledge of facility proprietary systems.
