Job Summary And Qualifications

The Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What you will do in this role:
  • You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patient(s).
  • You will meet the Standards of Practice for the Free-Standing Emergency Department (FSED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment.
  • You will participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
  • You will routinely provide triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment.
  • You will routinely perform venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests.
  • You will routinely provide intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations.
  • You will assume the responsibility of charging the department, as needed.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 2+ years RN ED experience in a hospital and/or FSED.
  • Current BLS, ACLS & PALS (American Red Cross or American Heart Association) are required.
  • ENPC Certification is required within 6 months of hire.
