Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Freestanding Emergency Department in Charlottesville, VA!

Shifts Available: Full Time Nights (three 12-hour shifts)

Up to $20,000 sign on bonus for qualified full‑time candidates

The Free‑Standing Emergency Room is a 13‑bed facility seeing about 60 patients a day with a physician and PA on staff as well as additional support including ED Techs. This well supported department is centered around teamwork and patient‑first mindset. In an emergency, quick access to skilled care makes all the difference. That’s why Sentara offers access to emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our management team has been long standing and diligent about building a cohesive and dedicated care team to serve the Charlottesville, VA area.

Required Call

• Full Time nurses have 16 hours of required call per 6 weeks.
• Part Time Nurses have 12 hours of required call per 6 weeks.

Experienced Nurse Orientation

Experienced critical care nurses can expect an orientation period of 10 weeks on the unit.

Education & Licensure

• Education Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Bachelor of Science Nursing - BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• Certification/Licensure Registered nursing License (Required)

Certifications Required

• ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
• PALS required prior to completion of orientation
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

• 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (Preferred)
• Critical care experience in hospital required

Compensation

Up to $20,000 sign on bonus for qualified full‑time candidates. The base pay range for full‑time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
