Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse in Brainerd/Baxter, MN to lead patient care, delegate to nursing staff, and advance the facility’s mission while adhering to Joint Commission standards.

Float RNs work across Medical, Med/Surg, IMC/ICU, and ED on 12‑hour Night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), 0.75 FTE, with every third weekend and holiday coverage; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement, and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment.
• BLS certification within one month; ACLS within one year.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient care by assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating care.
• Delegate responsibilities to licensed nursing staff according to licensure and role.

Our Float Pool Registered Nurses (RNs) are crucial for:

• Adaptability: Floating RNs work in multiple areas of the hospital, covering shifts and providing care wherever there is a need, whether in medical-surgical units, emergency departments, or specialized care areas.
• Flexibility: This role requires the ability to adapt quickly to different patient populations and clinical settings, ensuring seamless care and support across the hospital.
• Support: Float pool RNs help manage patient care needs during peak times, staff shortages, or special circumstances, contributing to overall operational efficiency and high-quality patient outcomes.
• Skill Variety: Exposure to diverse clinical environments allows float pool RNs to enhance their skills and experience in various specialties, making them valuable assets to the entire healthcare team.
• Units RNs will Float to: Medical Unit, Med/Surg Unit, IMC/ICU, Emergency Department.

This position will work the following:

• 60 hours per pay period
• Every Third Weekend
• 12 Hour Shifts
• Overnight Shift: 7:00PM - 7:30AM
