Missouri Baptist Medical Center is seeking a Night Shift Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and other units. The role emphasizes flexibility, cross-training in ICU and Emergency Department, and a collaborative night team within a Magnet-recognized hospital.

Qualifying candidates bring 2+ years of acute care RN experience, with BSN preferred (ADN accepted if enrolled). Self-scheduling and a 3x12-hr night schedule support work-life balance.

• Comfort with flexible float environment and cross-training.
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted if BSN in progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across Med/Surg, Telemetry, ICU and ED as needed.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with team collaboration.
• Educate patients and families; promote safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain high-quality care while rotating across units on night shift.
• Document plans of care and communicate changes across care continuum.

Join Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MoBap) as a Night Shift Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

Bring your strong Medical/Surgical and Telemetry expertise to a flexible, growth-focused role.

Designed for experienced nurses who thrive at night, this position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple inpatient units. Float Pool RNs must be comfortable working in different clinical environments—including occasional mid-shift transitions—to support patient care needs.

You’ll also have the opportunity to expand your skills through cross-training in ICU and the Emergency Department, all while working within a collaborative, tight-knit night shift team.

• Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The Patient Care Resource Team (Float Pool) is a team of highly skilled and experienced Staff Nurses and Patient Care Technicians who are flexible and versatile while supporting various areas within the hospital.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
• BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
