Job summary

Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, KY is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process and, when needed, assume House Supervisor responsibilities to meet patient care needs.

You will collaborate with the care team, document care, monitor patient status, assist with activities of daily living, coordinate transfers and discharges, and educate patients and families. RN license and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS per unit; ER experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS & PALS per unit specific requirements.
• One year of ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
• Perform House Supervisor responsibilities as needed to meet facility needs.
• Delegate and coordinate nursing care across the hospital.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Coordinate patient transfer, discharge, referral and psychosocial support needs.
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

How you'll contribute

The Float Pool RN provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This position also performs House Supervisor responsibilities as needed to meet the needs of the facility.

Delegates and coordinate nursing care throughout the hospital and ensures that quality nursing care is delivered.

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.

Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.

Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.

Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.

Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.

Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
