Job summary

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas (or current enrollment in BSN) per board requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum 9 months of professional nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collection of patient/family data across biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural and environmental domains.
• Collect and document vital signs, height/weight, and reason for visit.
• Prepare patient for examination per site protocol.
• Assist provider during treatments, examinations and testing as directed.
• Administer medications and immunizations per physician guidance and site protocol.
• Document administration of medications and immunizations in the medical record.
• Provide patient/family education and document in the medical record.
• Coordinate referrals as needed.
• Triages presenting patient complaints per protocol.
• Verify provider orders and patient per site protocol.
• Collect and process specimens per manufacturer instructions.
• Demonstrate service philosophies to patients and families.
• Respiratory fit testing required for all successful candidates.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Documents such education in the medical record
• Coordinates referrals

• Collects and processes specimen according to manufacturer’s instructions and using proper technique
• Demonstrates service philosophies to patients and families

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or one of the following:
• Associate degree in nursing/related field accepted by the Texas Board of Nursing for the purposes of obtaining and maintaining an RN license with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and a signed agreement
• Technical Diploma in Nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement
• Must be currently enrolled in A Nursing Bridge Program working toward an MSN. Verified BSN-equivalency or a signed agreement is required.
• RN License – Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required
• 9 Months Professional Nursing Experience Required
