Job summary

HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is seeking an Operating Room First Assistant Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure high-quality, efficient surgical care and join a supportive team committed to patient service.

Responsibilities include intra-operative assessment and planning, assisting surgeons, recording results, and administering medications under physician orders. Florida RN/ARNP licensure and CFA certification are required, with 350 cases and current BLS.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as Florida RN or ARNP; Florida license required within 60 days if compact.
• Graduate of CAAHEP Surgical Assistant Program, Medical School, or Allied Health with 2250 surgical hours.
• Current CFA with 350 cases; two years of recent experience.
• Basic Life Support certification required; CFA certification mandatory.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an Operating Room First Assistant Registered Nurse. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a surgical environment. What you will do in this role:

You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of intra-operative patients.

You will assist surgeons in operative procedures patients.

You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.

You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements:

Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or ARNP in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.

Graduate of an accredited by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) and the State of Florida Surgical Assistant Program, or Medical School Graduate, or Allied Health professional having completed 2250 hours surgical rotation.

Current Certified First Assistant (CFA) having completed 350 cases. Two years of experience within the last four years.

Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.

Current Certification as First Assistant (CFA) required.
