Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Core Flex I Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care across multiple departments and campuses. The role emphasizes autonomous decision-making, assessment, planning, and evaluation using the nursing process.

Qualifications include an Associate degree in nursing, IL RN license, BLS, and ACLS/PALS where applicable. Sign-on bonus and shift differentials are available; commitment period applies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.
• Licensure as Registered Nurse in Illinois with IL license.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification (required for applicable specialties).
• PALS certification (required for applicable specialties).

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Care across the care continuum in diverse environments.
• Cover two or more departments as Tier I RN at one location (ICU, Stepdown, Med/Surg, Psychiatric, Outpatient).

Pay range for this position is $42.78 - $53.74/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

The Core Flex I Registered Nurse provides expert, engaged nursing care aligned with their competencies, within an entity, including those with multiple campuses, within OSF HealthCare. The Core Flex I RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients using the nursing process. The Core Flex I RN is a highly knowledgeable, autonomous professional who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly to meet patient and organizational needs. The Core Flex I RN role requires advanced clinical competence, informal leadership capability, and provides safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients across the care continuum in diverse environments.

Tier I RN’s will provide coverage in two or more of the following departments at one location:

• ICU
• Stepdown
• Medical/Surgical
• Psychiatric
• Outpatient Clinic
• Ambulatory Care

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate degree in nursing

Experience:

• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.

Licensure/ Certification:

• Reg Nurse License in the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association
• Advanced Care Life Support certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) or completion within two years of hire.

Experience:

• 2 years of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.
• Participation in Clinical Ladder strongly encouraged.
