Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Core Flex I Registered Nurse to deliver expert, autonomous nursing care across care settings. The role requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with advanced clinical competence and informal leadership. Work includes weekend commitments and cross-campus coverage.

Qualifications include an associate degree in nursing, 1 year of acute care nursing experience, Illinois RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as applicable. A BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Reg Nurse License in the state of Illinois
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)

• Ability to maintain flexibility in work and schedule
• Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making ability
• Advanced assessment, analytical, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage complex patient populations across the care continuum
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft applications
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Pay range for this position is $42.78 - $53.74/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.

2 year commitment - $20,000 bonus

Night Shift Differential: $4/hour

Weekend Premium: 40% premium on top of base rate pay for hours worked within the defined weekend

Overview

The Core Flex I Registered Nurse provides expert, engaged nursing care aligned with their competencies, within an entity, including those with multiple campuses, within OSF HealthCare. The Core Flex I RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients using the nursing process. The Core Flex I RN is a highly knowledgeable, autonomous professional who demonstrates flexibility and adaptability, seamlessly to meet patient and organizational needs. The Core Flex I RN role requires advanced clinical competence, informal leadership capability, and provides safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to patients across the care continuum in diverse environments. This position requires working every 11 out of 12 weekends.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Associate degree in nursing

Experience:

• 1 year of nursing experience in an acute healthcare setting within the specialty hired.

Licensure/ Certification:

• Reg Nurse License in the state of Illinois
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association
• Advanced Care Life Support certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (required for applicable specialties)
