Valley Baptist Micro-Hospital - Weslaco is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct clinical patient care, assess and plan care, and coordinate nursing services per shift to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will supervise clinical staff, administer medications safely, and support the Chief Nursing Officer to maintain high-quality, safe care and appropriate resource management.

This role requires current licensure, BLS, and ACLS/PALS/NRP as applicable, with a strong commitment to patient

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current nursing license to practice in state of Texas.
• BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement direct clinical care for assigned patients per shift.
• Supervise staff to whom care is delegated and ensure safety and quality.
• Administer medications safely and timely per hospital policy.
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process and standards of safety.
• Fulfill HICS responsibilities during emergencies and know hospital codes.

Job description

Role Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level. The role is responsible for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy. Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster. Responsible for knowing the Hospital's emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.

Education & Certifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

License & Certifications: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.

Preferred Requirements

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing. Experience: Recent acute care experience.
