Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking an Emergency Room RN to join our team in Pittsburg, TX, on a variable shift, PRN basis. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care across the adult and geriatric populations in a Level IV trauma center setting, working within a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include prioritizing care based on assessments, applying the nursing process, and delivering physician-ordered treatments in alignment with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Texas RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS required before end of orientation.
• PALS or ENPC required before end of orientation.
• NIHSS certification required before end of orientation.

• Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
• Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
• Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation
• NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation

Preferred Job Requirements:

• One year of emergency nursing experience
• Two years of acute care nursing experience
• CEN
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
