Scope of Position

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost effective care.

Position Summary

The Inpatient Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Inpatient Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑, intra‑, and post‑procedural nursing care

• Hemodynamic and rhythm monitoring
• Collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in STEMI care, including required STEMI call rotation
• Opportunities for leadership as charge nurse

Additional Information

The Inpatient Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Lab provides comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary procedural environment. This role supports cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology (EP), and basic interventional radiology (IR) services for both inpatient and outpatient populations within a community‑based hospital setting. As part of an ODH Level II Cardiovascular Lab, the RN delivers safe, evidence‑based care in alignment with established Level II practice standards.
