About the Role:

This role requires a capable clinician, preferably with previous specialty experience, focused on expanding knowledge and skills. The nurse will provide effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients. The position involves seeking and providing feedback for clinical improvement, taking on a beginning clinical bedside leadership role, and participating in shared governance and quality initiatives. For new graduates, the focus is on developing knowledge and skills to care for increasingly complex patients, with supervision and feedback from more experienced clinicians.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia
  • Associates Degree
  • One year of experience as a professional RN (new graduates or those with less than one year of experience will be referred to the RN Residency Program)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • National certification in clinical specialty
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree
  • One year experience in Long Term Care
  • Membership in a professional organization
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Delivery of safe, effective, efficient care meeting population-specific guidelines
  • Effective communication, teamwork, customer service, and respect
  • Prioritization, evidence-based practice, leadership, and basic computer skills
Responsibilities:
  • Perform assessments, medication administration, care management, documentation, and discharge planning
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary care, participate in PI processes, and promote a culture of safety
  • Engage in discharge planning, patient education, and recognize signs of deterioration
  • Support unit goals, participate in shared governance, serve as Nurse in Charge when needed
Physical Demands:
  • Lift up to 100 lbs, carry up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling
