Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a per diem RN to join our PreOp/PACU team in Baltimore. This PRN role features flexible 8- to 12-hour shifts starting between 0600 and 0830, Monday through Friday, with opportunities to support general surgery patients and cross-train to PreOp and PACU.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of RN experience, and 2+ years Endoscopy RN experience is highly preferred for PRN coverage. Active RN license in MD or a compact state, plus BLS is required; ACLS/PALS are a plus.

Qualifications

• RN experience required; 2+ years Endoscopy RN experience highly preferred for PRN.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross). ACLS/PALS a plus.
• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Provide per diem RN nursing care in the PreOp/PACU unit supporting general surgery patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth perioperative care.
• Flexibility to cover 8-12 hour shifts, 0600–0830 start times, Monday–Friday.

Schedule

• Per Diem, Mon-Fri, flexible 8-12 hour shifts starting between 0600-0830.

Unit-Based PRN Minimum Requirements

• 4 shifts in 6 weeks
• Two of the 4 shifts must be weekend shifts
• 1 holiday or 1 hard-to-fill shift per year

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required; 2+ years of Endoscopy RN experience highly preferred since this is PRN.
