Job summary

Lifepoint Health in Versailles, KY is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to provide direct patient care using the nursing process. You will report to the Department Director/Manager and work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Nursing and an active RN license in Kentucky, with BCLS mandatory and ACLS/PALS preferred. Flex shifts and ongoing education are part of the position.

Qualifications

Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• License: /Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
