Job summary

Community Medical Center in Missoula, MT, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a part-time Emergency Services Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED, 2x12 shifts with rotating day/evening hours and every third weekend holidays per union contract.

Candidates should hold a Montana RN license (or Compact license with MT endorsement), ADN required with BSN preferred, and BLS certification; ACLS/PALS/TNCC/ENPC preferred; 3+ years ED/critical care experience

Qualifications

• Montana RN license or Compact RN License with Montana endorsement.
• ADN from an accredited nursing program required.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using nursing process.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, transfers, discharges and referrals.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.

Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)

How you'll contribute

An ED RN who excels in this role:

• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Montana RN license or Compact RN License with Montana endorsement, and possess an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BSN) preferred.

• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

• Advanced Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and Handle with Care preferred.

• Experience: 3+ years ED or critical care experience preferred
