Job summary

Vantage Search Group is seeking a Registered Nurse – Emergency Room for Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. The ED runs 24/7 with 12-hour shifts and requires collaboration with a wide range of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, cost-conscious patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, active RN license, 1 year of ER experience, and BLS certification; background check required. Competitive pay with benefits and sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from NLNAC/CCNE-accredited program.
• 1 year of full-time RN experience in the past 24 months.
• Current, active RN license.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Ability to pass government background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care with a broad healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with care standards and facility policies.
• Perform physical examinations and obtain health histories.
• Provide health promotion, counseling, and education.
• Administer medications and wound care, among other interventions.
• Direct and supervise care provided by other professionals.
• Assign patient care based on scope of practice and staff skill level.
• Identify adverse signs and respond promptly in emergencies.
• Communicate with diverse groups to inform plans and educate patients/families.
• Arrange referrals and specialty care as appropriate.
• Perform nursing services identified in the unit and support practice improvement.

Job description

We have an urgent need for a Registered Nurse - Emergency Room at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA.

The duties include, but are not limited to the following;

• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the facility.
• Perform physical exam and health histories.
• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
• Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals.
• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
• Perform nursing services identified in the unit.
• Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.

Work Schedule:

The Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. This position requires 12-hour shifts with three available shift options:

• Day Shift: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM
• Swing Shift: Start times may be 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 2:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:45 PM - 6:45 AM

Minimum Qualifications

Degree: Possess a Bachelors degree in Nursing from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Experience: A minimum of 1-year of full-time clinical experience as a Registered Nurse within the past 24 months.

Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse

Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Security: Must possess ability to pass a government background check/security clearance.
