Job summary

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center in Oregon is seeking a Registered Nurse RN for Per-Diem shifts in the Emergency Room. The ER Nurse provides direct and indirect patient care, triage, and rapid assessment to ensure safe, timely treatment in a high‑acuity environment.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, and ER or Med/Surg experience. TNCC or TEAM preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required.
• Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
• TNCC certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year of Med/Surg nursing experience required.
• Minimum of one year of Emergency Room nursing experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting.
• Triages patients entering the emergency care system safely and rapidly.
• Communicate changes in patient status with ER providers.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responses to treatment.

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) has Per Diem openings for RNs in our Emergency Room Department. The ER RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the emergency care setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with a minimum of supervision. Able to triage every patient that enters the emergency care system safely, rapidly, and accurately. This position is able to perform a Nursing Assessment following department policy and procedure. The ER RN determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. The ER RN communicates with Emergency Room Department Provider about changes in the patient’s status, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies. The ER RN is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responses to treatment.

Skills, Knowledge, & Experience Requirements:
