Job summary

Research Medical Center is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Room in Kansas City. In this role, you'll influence patient care through collaborative relationships and be part of impactful decision-making processes that enhance patient outcomes and nursing practice.

You'll manage pain assessments, provide care, educate patients and families, and fulfill continuing education requirements, all while benefiting from extensive health and wellness programs, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with appropriate diploma required.
• Advanced Trauma Care course to be obtained within 1 year.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS within 1 year.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support training within 6 months.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical procedures as ordered and document accordingly.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse RN Emergency Room, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn –whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non‑medicinal follow‑up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Diploma
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurse, or Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
